Original Beauty

"She was a true original beauty. One of the very first, not one of the last. She knew her place in the world, and she was satisfied. It was long before in time that her living days were, now she was nothing but a mere spirit. Some things are however stronger than death, and out of love and concern for the desert's travellers, she had remained to guard them. It had been her mission in life and it would forever be so even in death.

A family of three has entered the harsh lands of the hostile desert. It is a man, his wife and their little daughter. They had a home, once, but now they are in search of a new. They have heard that landscapes resembling Paradise are beyond the desert borders. They are determined to get there, at all costs. Prepared for a harsh journey they set off.

As they wander into the desert they are unaware of that a spirit of the past is guarding them, ensuring them to reach their destination safely and in time. For, she is the true original beauty. Not just beautiful on the outside, as the princess she once were, but also on the inside. She is a true guardian angel descended on Earth."

As no one seemed to like my jewelry to the extent I do, at least not according to my most recent poll, I though that I could just as well give you a digital piece, just for the sake of it. Truth is that I went to see if I had any pictures I could upload, and I had not! This is the first digital piece I have made since last year(!)!. So, I thought it was only fair if I did at least one.

I have more sketches waiting for me, I just have to color them. x'DDD

I know that her head is a little too big/small, depending on what you compare it to. I know that. It is however so that this is the first portrait I have ever colored digitally, and I did not think about the anatomy until afterwards. Maybe it is so that you do not see the flaws, but I do. I am however content, so please be that as well.

I spent a lot of time on her ear and earring. I really like ears and earrings, it is kind of a fetish I have. lol However, there is meaning to it, as always. The stone in her earring is a Lapiz Lazuli - a stone of the heavens. It has long been treasured for it has been believed to be the stone of guardians. That is why she wears that earring, our guardian princess from the past.

I also spend much time on her nose and lips. Eyes... They are not my thing!!! ;3;
