This is a picture which I originally sketched out with ballpoint pen a long time ago. My freind Vil told me about a dream she had had, possibly due to too much tea. It was a dream about blue giraffes dancing among the stars, if I recall it correctly. I thought it was such a neat idea, so I asked her if I could use it for a picture. She told me that I could, and this is what my imagination created of it. The giraffes are not blue, nor are they dancing, but at least they are giraffes, and at least there are stars.

The sketch was done weeks ago, as I mentioned, but I scanned it and started coloring it today. So sorry Vil, that is why I have not been online on MSN. D: The coloring did not take that long, it was getting everything right that took time. I added small details and swirls all the time, so every time I considered the picture to be finished, I saw an area without swirls and had to add some.

It is Smulis and a regular little giraffe. Smulis has lent one of her balloons to her friend, so that her friend can experience what Smulis does every day. I guess one could say that Smulis lets someone else see the world through her eyes for a while.

It is a highly emotional piece which I am deeply in love with. I am aware of the flaws that are to be found, but I see them as part of the charm about this picture.
